All boat trailers are suppose to be 4 pin. Because the trailer goes into the water when launching the boat it does not have electric brakes. Instead of electric brakes it should have surge brakes. Hope this helps.

If you have to replace the pump you may want to add a door to access the tank from the top. I believe someone has done a write on it already.

I find it easy just to pump it out. Then stink in a long hose right out the top of the engine compartment. Hookup a bottle and have someone squeeze in the fluid while I watch under the vehicle for it to be full. (looks like an IV drip)

Bought my 98 over a year ago for 2000.00 CAN. 210,000km, 4.0l. Put in another 1000.00. So 3000.00 all together. Love the Ex. Great for pulling the boat, and never worry about getting stuck camping any more. Looking around the ads here I have seen several 98 for under 2000.00.

Budwich is correct if you unplug it the lights will turn off. Remember in Canada you are suppose to have day time running lights. So until you replace it remember to turn your lights on manually.

For me it was the DRL module (Daytime running lights). Located driver side near the bumper. Just unplug it and if the lights turn off then that is your problem. Search DRL lots of info will come up.

Check the relay box right next to the air filter. Can not remember the number of the relay but all I did was grab a couple of relays from the scrap yard and replaced one at a time until it worked. It is a little hard to find the relay box, also not on any diagrams.

Scrap yard, reese hitch class 3, very nice shape $25.00. When towing the boat it sits level. If I used the ball on the bumper is doesn't sit level. More options if you have the hitch. Just my opinion.
