    Voltage gauge stopped working completely

    The needle is pegged at what would be 9 PM on a clock (completely off the dial) and doesn't move. Battery and charging are OK. Any ideas what to check first? Thanks! David

    Voltage reg. embedded in silicone. If there is no burned areas or dark spots in the silicone you can just replace the brushes.

    Four t-20 torx head screws secure the voltage regulator to the back of the regulator. It is possible to remove the regulator and brushes without removing the alt. But it is a pain and the chance of dropping a part into the housing is great.
