I'm wanting to put a 347 in my 97 5.0 should I stroke the motor thats in it or drop a turn key carb 347 in it?

that is up to you. as long as you know you will have to get a balancer made either way you go

What is your goal as far as Torque, and horsepower are concerned?

I would save the stock engine if it was me.
