1998 ranger 2wd ext cab 4.0 V-6

I would like to put a V-8 from an explorer or mountaineer into my 1998 2WD ranger.I see articles on swaps with 4X4's but not 2WD.Can any one help with info.Does any one know what tail shaft I need to use for the 2WD.HELP! Thank you Bob Burrows

You will need a 2wd transmission.V8 Explorer's were made both 4wd and 2wd.

So, I would look for a 2wd donor truck.
