Thanks for any help. Installed a replacement(used)4.0 efi engine into truck. The old engine had a 2 wire cam position sensor and the new engine has a 3 wire CPS. I have removed the 3 plug from wiring harness from donor car and wanting to wire in to 2 wire(original harness). Is this possible? The original harness in truck had a (blue with orange stripe and grey with red) the donor car plug had (black w/white stripe, blue w/orange stripe, and red). I read on the forum that this was possible with changing the CPS bit unclear on wiring. Thanks for any help!

Welcome to the forum!
Do you happen to know what year and what vehicle the replacement engine came out of?

I believe 2000 explorer. My harness and motor in original Ranger had a 2 wire CPS in rear of engine and the new engine has a three wire CPS. Both plug in straight (pointing toward transmission)off rear of engine. Neither have an angle up(toward hood) for plug.
