1st gen 4x4 issues

I have a 1992 ford explorer xlt and I have replaced the 4x4 switch and the 4x4 motor but it still won't engage. Any advice

Does your "try" to go into 4x4? Does the light blink or turn on at all? If it doesn't even try the 4x4 module could be bad or you have some bad wiring somewhere. I attached an article Bellow you can read and it includes a way to test the module among other things.

You can also manually turn the lever inside the Transfer Case with pliers after removing the shift motor to make it go into 4x4 to rule out mechanical issues within the T-case or Hubs.
