2002 Trans 5R55S checking fill tube fluid keep coming and coming

I open fill pipe where the fluid level should be able to be topped off but ended up getting 3 to 4 quarts out instead of a dribble. Do those drain pull pipes often break or is it possible to of had too much in there. The vehicle is very level at the moment. Any suggestions on refill or is it possible they had way too much to begin with?

The fluid level has to be checked with the vehicle level, engine running and fluid temp between 80-120*F.

Remove small plug in the center of the drain plug.

If you checked it with the engine running, I would remove the drain plug and make sure it wasn’t damaged.
