I just picked up a 2006 Explorer XLT, after finally deciding to park my 1991 Explorer until further notice. I'm pretty stoked on the V8 in this rig, and the overall handling is great. I will be doing a bunch of upgrades here soon, after it gets a fresh coat of Olive Drab paint. I will eventually do my best to black everything out, including the headlights and tail lights. I am having one hell of a hard time finding any rear tail light options other than stock replacements. I'm wondering if the 4th gen Mountaineer lights will fit? Are they electrically compatible? I think those would look great if all of the chrome were painted matte black. It seems like upgrades in general are tough on the 2006-2010 Explorers, unfortunate for us I guess. I would greatly appreciate feedback on this topic, thanks in advance.
