2wd to 4wd conversion 2001 st

hi,i have a 2001 st 2wd and i need to know if i can do the 4wd conversion using all the parts from a 2002 explorer sport awd. my friend is selling me his explorer sport very cheap so thats why i ask. thanks!

Just as long as his truck is a 2 door sport then yes

then all should work except rear driveshaft

Swap is not hard specially if you use the 1354 M and cut the hole in the floor board then run 4WD driveshafts they need to be sport trac shafts. And as for the trans I believe you need a 4WD version as the the output shaft and tail housing is different. Good luck it's been done before but I know it's deep

Pretty sure the 02 sport never came in AWD. It came in 4x2 and 4x4 like the ST.
