4.0 V6 exhaust manifold gasket?

Can anyone here comment on exhaust manifold gaskets? There were none on my truck when I pulled the heads, and none mentioned in the ALLDATA repair instructions, so I didn't use any putting it back together. However, the Felpro head gasket kit I bought came with what appear to be exhaust manifold gaskets. Are these now recommended or something? Should I bother digging back in to install these?

The stock had no gasket because all surfaces were straight.
My advice: if you have no leak, don't use gasket. If you have a leak use gasket.
