2010 Explorer Limited V8 with Flex 20" wheels
I just got done installing these wheels on my wife's Expo. Purchased these wheels new from a guy on CL, OEM Edge or Flex. The tires are Cooper 265/50R20. I did need to get the hub bored out bigger to fit the Explorer. It cost me $180 total for all 4 to get it done.
Hey all. I've been lurking for a while and finally decided I'd post some pics of my Ex. I'm not a huge fan of the chrome or tan trim that was on her, so i got rid of it. To see all the pictures go here...http://s1361.photobucket.com/user/Erek_Cummings/library/Truck mods
This has Gen 1-4 in one picture, but since I own a 4th, this is where I'm putting it.
that is funny
It's been a while since I've done anything to the Ex. Just purchased an Expedition for the family, so I'll be doing more upgrades to the Ex shortly. Added new wheels this past weekend. Black 16x8 ProComps. The 265 75 16 Dynapro ATM ties look much better now than with the stock rims. Needs a lift though, but won't do it unless I get the extended upper control arms.
Do you hace any rubbing when turning? Those look nice... Im thinking using this same size with 16 inch Fuel Revolver rims on my Black Ironman X.
Yea, now with the new wheels I had slight rubbing on both sides, since they stick out some. Had to trim the running boards on the corners at an angle without affecting the look. Driver side needed more trimming. Had to take a bit off the inside of the fender flare too. Lift would probably eliminate some of the trimming needed .
I took it to the desert yesterday. I even got to use 4 low!
Awesome pics! Looks like a lot of fun.
FROADER, I pass you at least once a week on PCH around 4:30-5:30ish. You go south I go North. This week I'm DD the Ex. I'll be watching for you.
Thanks for sharing Froader; looks good!
I'll keep an eye out. Normally a white GTI, right? I won't be there tomorrow, but the rest of the week for sure.
Yes sir. Sounds good. I'm down for a quick meet along the way if you are. Me wants to see a couple lifted 4th gens together!
Check your PMs.
I'll keep my good camera in there this week.
Nice truck and photos Froader.
Anyone have pictures of their 4th gen Ex with the stock chrome 18's with 265/65/18 tires on them?
2006 XLT, picked it up with about 85k on it (give or take)
Have a sh*t ton of parts sitting in my utility room, just waiting for the funds to become available to buy wheels and tires. Fuel Pump D515 wheels, 18x9" 1mm offset.
Undecided on tires, but going with the BFG KO2's. Thinking about a 285/60/18, but not sure where ill be at rub wise. Haven't really heard from anyone that it will or will not be too wide. Im thinking it would be alright because of the +1 offset on these wheels, that should push them out pretty far.
I have tie rod ends, monroe quick struts (4), powerstop drilled/slotted rotors (4) with carbon fiber/ceramic pads, BTF upper control arms, lower ball joints, sway bar bushings, end links, 1" bodylift blocks, Ford Flex shift knob, and more.
Beautiful cutoff lines from my projectors:
I believe this is the same day I picked her up:
Swapped out the tan OEM carpet for new black carpet/swapped cloth seats for power leather:
Quick meet tonight with King of So Cal. It was good to meet you and actually see a lifted 4th gen. I'm looking forward to getting these trucks dirty.
Great meeting you too. Pretty awesome seeing two of the forum trucks together. Yes, let's get these dirty now.
She thinks that she knows how to flex
My favorite explorer on here! I love the stance this thing has! What size wheels and tires are you running, and what back spacing on the wheels? This is exactly the look I want for my 06'
Took it to Joshua Tree yesterday.
Thank you sir. I believe back spacing is 4.5. Tires are 315/75/16.
Looks good Froader.
Thats what I want my Explorer to look like. I just bought a stock 07 eddie bauer edition.
