Ahh, interesting. What made you want an Explorer over an Everest?
I've been following this forum for a while. I really like how the Explorer looks with beefed up tires.
Photo op at the job site
If you don't mind my asking, and this for anyone who knows to answer, where can one get those wheel well flares? I've done a little looking on ebay, and can't find anything that looks that legit.
I think he had them custom made.
i believe the style you are looking for is part of the iron-man edition explorer not sure the part numbers for the fender flairs maybe someone on here with the iron-man can chime in with that.
Unfortunately the part number is on the parts website. However they discontinued the parts for the ironman fenders. As for most ironman exclusive parts.
My 2006 Limited that I bought in January to replace my 1997 Explorer. As purchased....
Only mods so far are the tinted windows it came with, the Ford Edge 22" wheels I added and I wrapped all the stock wood grain trim in carbon fiber.
My 2007 premier running 33s w/o lift (strut spacers ordered)
Bigger tires, roof rack, and more lights
Thinking about Traxda next but I kinda like how full the wheel wells are..
Also heres a video of the lights at night since you can't tell how bright they are in the day,
First stage is just the headlights,
Second stage is headlights + bull bar light
Third stage is Head lights + Bull Bar " Roof lights
Loving the side spot lights at night!
Sorry for the spamming of photos!
Threw a bug-deflector on her and let her model in the Sunset
I like it! I think i may have seen your truck on the road briefly last Sunday. Or maybe somebody else's nice black Gen 4 Ex. I was dropping off my son in Wildwood. Heading back to Cape May area early tomorrow to pick him up. I like the look of the tires too. What size? Any lift?
Small world man! This was taken on Sunday at Brigantine beach so you may have saw me on the expressway or white horse Pike depending on time of day !
They are 265/65R18 with no vertical lift but they do have 1.5" wheel spacers to give a wider stance. There was rub at full turn on the front end but was easily fixed by pulling the inner plastic piece of the wheel well forward by drilling two small holes in the plastic and using heavy duty zip ties to pull the plastic away from the tires, all is good at full turn now!
stock when i bought it
Dang, that's a huge improvement! Looks good!
A little update picture
