4wd Rear driveshaft carrier bearing

Hi,

It seems there are two choices for replacement driveshafts for the 07-10 4wd ST.

Dorman drive shaft: Dorman Products - 936-896

Versus the custom Fort Wayne unit: 2007-2010 FORD EXPLORER SPORT TRAC 4x4 REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY - SKU# 7A2Z-4602-K/C_OEM - Fort Wayne Clutch & Driveline

The Dorman unit can be had for $200 less than the custom item which is why I was curious if anyone has experience with the Dorman unit?

I've installed the one from Fort Wayne and it's a quality piece. That dorman one looks like the identical crappy factory carrier bearing. My customer spent the extra money for the shaft with the replaceable carrier bearing. His failed at 65k miles.

I have the Fort Wayne drive shaft in mine. No issues. Very good quality.

fort wayne in mine. no issues. they skimped on shipping material but luckily didnt have any issues
