I painted the gold trim black, got a hitch, and installed a 95-98 steel front bumper. These are a bunch of random photo's taken in the last few weeks from some wheelin/shooting trips...

Waiting on a 3" body lift spacer to come in the mail so hopefully by tuesday ill have it level!

Edit: just tracked it and it will be here on Wed.

Trying to figure out what to do with the trac bars....Im thinking about maybe relocating the brackets on the frame closer to the axle?

Any ideas?

Hey man, that thing is looking good! How are you going to level it with the SOA? Are you doing the sloped body lift like you had on your old explorer?

Just out of curiosity, what tire pressure do you run with the 33's? I have those same tires and I am not exactly sure what I should be running on the street. The tread is not exactly flat when on a 15x8 wheel.

yeah sloped BL. I run 40 PSI on the road and 20psi off road.

If anyone has any sugggestions on the trac bars that would be great!

I'm trying to figure out how to reuse my stock traction bars right now too, but I'm still spring under. Check out the Autofab 2 link. I think that since you're spring over now, the traction bars should be mounted on the bottom of the axle. If you keep them mounted on top of the axle, they won't be doing anything. Same with the mounts for the frame...I think they need to be relocated underneath the spring mounts or else they will just bind as soon as you get some articulation.

i think they would still work if they were on top....it would still keep the axle from pulling under load.

Not really. The axle wants to pivot on the spring pads, and the point of traction bars is to eliminate that. The stock traction bar mounts on the axle are very close to your new spring pads above the axle, so by mounting them there they won't be effective. Think about it, the farther away from the center pins they are, the more effective they will be at eliminating axle wrap. What you might be able to do is, instead of relocating the traction bars entirely below the spring and axle like the autofab kit does, keep the mounts somewhere on the frame (maybe still relocate them though) and weld on some new mounts that sit higher off the top of the axle than the stock mounts, so you will be increasing the distance between the spring pads and the traction bar mount.

Wait, are you referring to the axle mounts or the frame mounts?
