Aerostar 4.0 heads.

Has anyone used 4.0 heads off an Aerostar minivan? As long as the casting numbers are the same they should work, right.

Where, EXACTLY is the casting number? Is all the casting numers/letters together? The only thing I can find on my heads is the number 91 between two valve springs.

Glad it helped. Even though the info is intended for Rangers, our Explorers are similiar mechanically, as are the Aerostars. Good luck with matching your heads.

I ordered a used, non cracked head off ebay for $33.00 +shp(18.00)
I will see if it works, it should, will keep the peeps posted, I could have gotten two if I'd called a day earlier.
