Can anyone tell me if a mustang's 6-disk in dash stereo will work in a 2003 explorer eddie bauer with steering wheel controls? Also, mine has the cd/cassette, and appears to have no amp(s). Where do the amps go? Is a sub an option, and where does it go? Is my truck pre wired for amps? What are the best factory speakers? Any other hints to upgrade my crappy stereo?
      Thanks,
      Terry

im guessing that the wiring will be a little different between the headunits, what year was the mustang? was it a double din like your explorer? also, since you ahve the EB, it most likely has the system with an amp for your sub and speakers that were stock

I have sold my 03, and now have an 05 EB 4.6L, 4x4 with the factory 290 watt stereo and sub. Where are the amp(s) located? Can they be upgraded with, say, amps from the MACH 460 or Mach 1000 for more power?
      Thanks,
      Terry

Should create a new topic for this....

Door speaker amp is located within the confines of the headunit.

The amp for the rear mounted sub is mounted to the sub box.
