Hello All

92 Explorer 4.0 engine

Does anyone know - or can check for me - where the bimetal sensor input hose on the air filter connects to on the engine? I think it's somewhere on the exhaust manifold. But I just can find it. I've checked the metal shroud at the front of the passenger side manifold, but I see nothing there. My hose is either disconnected or broken off. But I just can't see where it goes. The Haynes and Ford shop manuals don't seem to detail this.

Thanks for any help

One side of the Bi-Metal sensor connects to the vacuum tree (not sure where but it shouldn't matter). The other end connects to the vacuum actuator within the lower intake pipe (see the video I made below which explains how the bimetal sensor and components work).

Yeah what he said..the tree thing at the back of the intake manifold. However you don't really need the thing. Just take the hose out & make sure to cap the tree if is has any ports not capped.
