Wow, good stuff for diagnosing the EVAP system, Dogfriend.
I'm sorry for the loss of your buddy. They do indeed become part of the family, and are greatly missed.....
Sderaad, the most common cause of this code is a loose fuel cap, or damaged O-ring seal, so check that first.

Thanks. I'm still at the stage where I expect her to be right here next to me, but she's not here anymore. She had a good life, but I'm very sad that she is gone now.
Dogfriend!!!!!!! My heart dropped when I read your sig good buddy. I'm sooo sorry for your loss. Dogs... <sigh> best friends you can have. My condolences. I've always enjoyed seeing her in your Avitar. Always will.
Thanks. I'm going to keep the avatar for awhile.
Thanks for all of the excellent info. I'll try the gas cap first, but now I know where to go if thats nor the fix.
Thank you all.
P0455 code. 02 Sport Trac, similar problem, found a hose off over the spare tire, I believe gas tank to canister, snapped back in. Hope it works.
having the same code come up and some harsh starts, had a line off vapor management valve pop off and melt. mileage has been down a lot lately
