My 94 xlt also misses when idling, it has done this for some time now, inspite of a complete tuneup, checking vacumm lines to the best of my ability, etc.
While flushing the radiator/waiting for it to heat up I noticed that the tensioner for the drive belt would move towards the passenger side of the vehicle and this movement coresponded to the rough idle spot. Aha! now that Ive discovered this does anyone know how to fix this or is this normal?
Sorry I did not answer the original question, but perhaps there is some similarities to your problem?
