I have a 2000 F250 Powerstroke. I know there are some good forums out there for trucks like that but i dont belong to those forums, i belong to the best forum on the web, and the wealth of knowlege here never lets me down.
So the previous owner bypassed the clutch safety switch and my truck starts anytime you turn the key whether in neutral or the clutch is in or not. I have had the truck for a few years and have yet to run anyone over but decided its time to replace the switch. Not only for safety but also to get my cruise control back. So i replaced the switch today and as soon as i turned the key to "on" the truck fires up before i ever get to the "start" position. I unlugged the new switch and plugged the bypassed old switch back in and it behaves as it did before so i figure its not the selenoid or the ignition switch. Any other ideas?
