Flickering lights

The radio display lights flicker, especially when the headlights are on.
What contacts, switches should I be looking at?

Could be the radio itself, if it's the original head unit. You could try pulling it and cleaning its contacts.

Possibly the headlight switch. If your Ranger is anything like our 1st gen Ex's, the headlight switch is a known failure point because of the way they were wired from the factory. They fry after 25 years of current rolling thru them. You can replace the switch, and/or you could install a relay'ed headlight harness (available from LMC Truck, or you can make one yourself). This isolates the headlight switch from the load -- the way Ford should have done it.

Are you sure your positive and negative battery cables are ok? How about the alternator? Are any other lights flickering? Mine did that when the main cable to the alternator was corroded on the inside (it looked good on the outside, but was corroded badly on the inside).
