Ford Ranger 2000 XLT sputters

I have a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT spits and sputters when I mash accelerator but idles fine can anyone help

Scan for trouble codes regardless if you have a check engine light or not.
Most auto parts stores do it as a free service. If any, write the NUMBERS down. GL

Could be the Coil Pack, mine would do some bucking if I gave it too much gas, turned out to be the coil Pack. it might need a good tune up
