High idleidentity problem

I made the mistake of disconnecting the battery to change the alternator, now the engine doesn't want to relearn idle. It runs consistently at 2000 rpm. I have tried disconnecting the battery again to no avail. Was wondering if the idle air control valve IAC could be a problem or if any has any other ideas? Sorry for the title auto fill created that and I can't edit it.

There are vacuum hoses at the air cleaner and the heater control valve as well as electrical sensors you might have affected while changing the alternator. It will also take several heat/cool cycles for the ECM to re-learn the trim values. I would give it at least 6 to 10 cycles to fully re-trim. Make sure that one of the intake tube boots isn't twisted or damaged and causing an air leak and that the tube is not worn through on the bottom.
