- 1998 Ford Explorer XLT
So, I've spent an hour trying to find the answer to these questions but I can't find a cut and dry answer. I have a 1998 Ford Explorer with MACH audio. Now, I want to replace the factory sub because it's blown but keep my factory amp. Why not replace the amp too you may ask. Well, this isn't my daily driver, I just use the explorer for the winter so I don't want to get fancy with it.
What are the specs for the factory amp? OHMS? Watts? What size does the new sub be? I believe it is 8" if I'm correct but what is the depth?
Also, I noticed in a picture that factory sub is connected to a plug-in-play wires to the amp. How would I go about hooking up a new sub to the factory amp using the same "plug-in-play"?
What would you recommend for a new sub?
Any information would be deeply appreciated!
Thanks!
Brandon
