Welcome to the registry for Wedgie 2.0, who has been affectionately named "Deuce"

From Shad's info to save keystrokes:

Here is the run down:

2000 Ford Explorer XLT 5.0L - AWD
Deep Wedgewood Blue
Gray Leather
Yada, yada, yada...

Highlights:

  • Transmission rebuilt at 160,000 miles, and filled with synthetic
  • Lifted 2" in front with torsion keys
  • Lifted 3" in back with Add-a-Leaf and Warrior Shackles
  • New Superlift shocks at 166,000 miles
  • 31" x 10.5" tires
  • As much rust as some southern trucks- she's clean...

Interesting fact- it was an XLT fitted with air-ride shocks from the factory. System was disabled with the kit and shocks were put on to avoid costly repair.

Today 1/28/11 was the first car wash.

And yes, it needs to be cleaned... :D

IMG_1707.jpg

Um... This is going to be my biggest challenge to date.

But it's going to be fine. It's an incredible place to start- the steering wheel isn't even gummy or rolled. I'm very pleased with the canvas...

Anyway, after the car wash, I snapped some pics for starting point reference.
So, here are our obligatory before pictures...

Door seams always oiled

IMG_1688.jpg

Hatch looks brand new as well!

IMG_1698.jpg

Nothing on the rocker seams ...but a paint chip :D

IMG_1687.jpg

Rockers nice. No rust even at the back- just grime and ice. I think the mudflaps really helped...

Now I'm working on another project.

Two tabs shaved off...

And in it goes...

Now for scuffing, and some paint. If I can't match the sheen of the "rubbery" center bezel, I'll just pull it, and scuff the woodgrain center bezel I have downstairs, since that's a hell of a lot easier than stripping that rubbery stuff off.

I always liked that center console best, after owning my 2001 and 2002 sports. Sad thing was, the 2002 Sport that this (and some other cool parts) came out of, was a spitting image of my ex Ex.

Lunchy- that emblem is straighter than you- and you're like Hugh Hefner...

Chrysler should hire me. They have some really nice factory installed emblems:

Sean- I have to say- this truck is f'n clean... lol!

I need a NOS steering wheel, and I will be able to sleep at night.

That does sound easier :)

My original UNEDITED post does NOT include the word 'hella' anywhere in there!

Ass!

:D

Are you sure?? Your X is hella sick though ;)

Omfg lol

I was waiting for that one... :D

I ordered that same Explorer badge for my hatch for when I paint it!

Looking great though:thumbsup: I really like the newer badge on there, I was wondering what it would look like.

You can't use it now. Sorry, I did it first. :p:

Fair is fair :(

In all seriousness though I will feel like I copied you when I do get around to getting my X painted and then putting it on!

If it makes you feel better, I will not be installing any LED's into my truck. :D

Hey, to each his own :)

They really save me money every month on the electric bill :p:

For those slow ones, this was a joke. Obviously vehicles dont have electric bills.

Yah, those damn space heater's really suck the juice ay?:D

Ok- that was f'n funny... :D

My truck's interior lights don't show up on my electric bill. Am I missing something? ;)

trucks definitely coming along nicely Joe! Been stealing some of the products you've been using for myself. Keep up the good work!

Lol.....I'm satisfied with normal lights in my trucks....Looks good Joe
