This is after she's all cleaned up and added some pinstripes, removed the roof rack, and lowered it 2". I think I swapped my 3.27 open diff for a 3.73 lsd here too. Then one with the new wheels and tires (before I made the center caps).

Here I added a smooth bumper with fog lights from a xlt and some nerf bars from another sport. Deleted the rear wiper.

Changed the grille to a 97 limited.

Here I upgraded the gauge faces and painted the bezels. Also deleted the rear wiper switch.

Next was to build a spoiler from a Kia Sedona! I got the idea from a post on this site!

Swapped my seats out for some from an 03 sport.

Replaced my door panels with some from an 02 sport. Had to modify the window and lock switch mounting. I used the 99 switches. They're not solid state like the 02!

Now it's time for paint! 2 of my brothers helped me paint it in 8 days! I drove from AZ to OH to have them help me! The worst part was welding all the holes for the roof rack!

Here she is all finished up (for now!) and back in AZ. While I had it stripped I also shaved the antenna on the fender and added a roof mount from a 2010 flex.

Since the paint, the only thing I've done is added some clear lens head lights. I still have to build some grille inserts for it. Then it's time to start building my 347 stroker and tremec 5 speed! Right now she's sitting at 230,000 mi!

Also, early on I did a throttle body mod (found on this site), an airbox mod, put 4 door springs on the rear, replaced all the front suspension and shocks, and cut the factory muffler out and replaced it with an 11" Thrush turbo muffler and a piece of pipe.

not bad, not bad at all

Thanks! It's a work in progress! But aren't they all?! My wife wants me to get it done so I will swap a 4.6 dohc from a continental into her 01 Taurus!

I was playing around with a photo editor! Makes it kind of look like a drawing!

Explorer

Very nice indeed!
How did you make that rear spoiler?

How much did you drop the suspension?

Thanks!

I took a Kia Sedona spoiler and cut it in half. Then figured how much needed to be removed, then plastic welded it back together! There's a metal bracket that helps support it in the center, I took 3" out of that and welded it too. There is a post on here where the guy did it with fiberglass instead of a plastic welder.

I dropped it with 2" blocks in the rear and lowered the torsion bars all the way in the front. I got 2" all the way around.

Really Nice!

I think when it's time for new tires, I'm going to go with a wider rear wheel. I have 17 x 9 cobra r wheels now. I'm probably going with 17 x 10.5 in the rear!

Also, this sport was a lot of my inspiration for my build. I know she's a member on here. Does anyone know if she still has it? Maybe some current pics?

tara's truck. i to loosely did my build based on some of the things on her truck (thats also the truck i used to do my roll pan). i know tara well (and used to crash at her place when i would go to all ford nationals in carlisle pa), even though i am 27 hours away. she still has hotness. she doesnt drive her much these days (she took it out last weekend for the first time in i think a year). if you google blackrock photography in pa, that is her. she is more into her military trucks now, as well as she is one of the photographers for RPM magazine as well as her full time job so she doesnt have a lot of time to spend with hotness these days.

Those two look amazing together! They look good alone, but together....
I wish there were more like these around me!

How hard was the roll pan to make?

Never mind. I just saw your roll pan build! That's pretty cool. I'm afraid of not having a bumper here. Too many idiots on the road! I was thinking of cutting the bumper in half, longways, and taking the step part out of it. So, it would be the same width as the smallest part of the stock bumper.

you'd be surprised how tuff the roll pan is. very surprised. i backed into a overhead door frame a few summers ago. it took out the tail gate (thats why if you look at some older pics of my truck there is a window wiper there, and the newer pics the wiper is gone), smashed the back glass, dented the overhead door frame (steel frame) ripped the crap out of the overhead door frame weather strip....and it put a one inch by one inch dent in the pan.

Isn't it a shame that they let them wander out of Sun City into Surprise??:D

BTW, Great looking Sport:chug:

Thanks Rick!

Those old people are crazy! But if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't make as much money as I do! Our shop is right outside of Sun City Grand, so we get to see the best of it!

Got my grille inserts done on Sunday. I might remake the bumper insert. I'm not 100% happy with it! It will do for now though!
