Thanks to a busted cable clamp the head unit has to come out to make the switch between modes

We will bring the one out of the Ghost unless you'd like me to send it Monday via USPS.

I know for sure if i make it i will not be locked on both axles yet. Should on the rear if i can make it i will throw that locker in since i already have it. So im not sure if that will put me back down to Pack Dog.

I am only one for dinner now.

Is there trailer parking at the trail head for elephant hill?

Is there trailer parking at the trail head for elephant hill?

Crap. I just ready the description and it says 'No Pets' Maybe that's for camping, does anyone else know???

I though there were pet restrictions for all of Canyon Lands. I know there is for the west side over at The Maize. There is a parking area at the trail head for Elephant but I'm not sure you'd want to take your trailer in that far. They might let you park it out at the park entrance. If your going to fuel up at the little campground convience market where fuel will be well over $4.00 you can check with them. They are hit and miss though but for sure you'd have to be a customer and make a pretty good purchase to ask them. You could pull off at the trail that goes north over Lockhart Basin (the back way to Moab) and drop the trailer there. Newspaper rock has a big parking area on both sides of the road and it could be droped there. But secure it as that place see's a lot of traffic. There are parking areas in the park at restrooms I think. Not sure what they'd say about that. Might just call the Needles District Office and ask them.

In 21 days at this time we should be rolling into Canyonlands campground.

Yes i am 2 for dinner. :)

Also need to consider the Canyonlands National Park entry fee - - listed on the NPS webite as $10 per vehicle. Not a significant amount (other National Parks charge up to $25), but still another thing to consider. Still want to run this one though, have not yet been on it.

Just a little update:

Installed the 8.8"Aussie last weekend, I don't think I'm a fan of the click-click-click. If it runs trouble free for the entire trip, maybe i could learn too. Still planning on swapping plugs and wires and the trans fluid and filter.

YES! please, 2 for dinner

Shannon and I will be heading home Monday in the AM

also just ordered our copy of the Guide to Moab 2nd Edition. Thanks for the link.

Crap. I just ready the description and it says 'No Pets' Maybe that's for camping, does anyone else know???

NATIONAL PARKS
Activities with pets are very limited within the National Parks of southern Utah. Pets are prohibited from the backcountry as well as on trails. Pets must be leashed at all times when outside a vehicle and may be walked only on roads or in parking lots. Pets may accompany visitors in campgrounds.

PUBLIC LANDS
Generally, pets may accompany you as you hike on public land in Canyon Country. (Check out our Hiking Page for details on some popular pet friendly Moab area hikes.) For the safety of your pet (there are many shear drop-offs in Canyon Country) and other hikers, pets should be kept under verbal control at all times. Be aware that other wildlife may be encountered along trails. Please note that heavily traveled areas may have additional regulations regarding pets. For exact regulations regarding the specific area you will be visiting, contact the appropriate Bureau of Land Management office:

Pets are not allowed at Elephant Hill, if the trailer is more than a car length I don't think you can park it at the trail head (i'm sure you could strike a deal with the gal at the outpost to leave it there for a fee), Gas at the Outpost is $6.00 a gallon and is CASH only, and, the trail is awesome! Tons of Indian graffiti (petroglyphs?) and the road is a wild ride! I went camping with some friends in there and we got my Explorer (2.5" lift with 31's) over just fine. And as a testiment to their ability, they got a crew cab long bed Dodge over too! Is there any interest in Fins & Things?

Hmm, crap, guess I wont be adding that one to the Dun list. :(

Cant leave her home, we would both go nuts :banghead:

Wasn't a problem in '10. Time for research

Is there any interest in Fins & Things?

I think Fins & Things would be a great Friday evening / night run . . . Close to town, fairly easy route finding, and we can watch a few of the built rigs play at Potato Salad Hill. . .

This list, as we discussed on Saturday at Kevins, is nothing more than a starting point:

From Albino: "We had a brief discussion about trails at DWD's shop yesterday. Here is the tentative plan for the NW crew arriving early;
Monday - Elephant Hill
Tuesday - Kane Creek
Wednesday - Poison Spider Mesa/Gold Bar Rim/Golden Spike
Thursday - Moab Rim
Friday through Sunday somewhat open but suggestions

-Metal Masher
-Pritchett Canyon"

Nothing really gets sorted out for the day until at about 8:05 each morning in the parking lot of City Market (if my past Moab experiences have taught me anything). . .

Got the suspension lift on over the weekend. Huge difference in ride height. Plenty of room for bigger tires now. Anybody have a set of 33"/35"x12.5"x17" BFG A/T's to borrow us? :D

Rock sliders, & front skid have nice new paint on them and cant wait to be mangled on some ledges. All the skids/armor should be installed soon.

Everything is still falling into place for us to be there as scheduled. Were so ready to get away it ain't funny. 2 months of absolute insane weather for us. Bring on the dry air, warm temps, and sunny skies! :bounce:
