How to: New Forscan Update Allows Module Programming

I think that is part of the "Dark Car" feature.

Peter
I don't beleive so as dark car mode is to disable all lighting (interior and exterior) when extering and exiting the vehicle.
What I'm referring to is PIUs driving around with no accent lighting and only lowbeams.

I still haven't reverted back the dark mode changes I made from my prior posts, I had a couple of questions:

1. When I open my door now and the EX is completely off, the interior lights stay off except for the accents inside (which are red in the cupholder and under the footwells) and I think the center screen shows the ford logo.

2. When dark mode is enabled, and the vehicle is either turned on or in accessory mode (press push start once but not actually turning on engine), do the internal lights turn on when dark mode is enabled or are they supposed to stay off?

Maybe the mode is enabled but I'm just thinking it is something different.

Finally got around to programming some stuff. Wasnt going well at first. I was using this link to start
https://www.icloud.com/numbers/0AtiYU-yJ4Nrfyfuzp-Mi0l8A#FORScan_2016-2018_Explorers
Was able to get double honk working. But that was about it.

The high beam with fogs was wrong for mine, I used another site:
http://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/2504789/blog/38116633/ and it worked well.

Fog remember after ignition was also used from JP site but is 0 to enable and 1 to disable
Also used the JP site for secure idle and that works well.

I cant for the life of my get global window up to work. Down was enable and in the left display screen from the factory but up wont show up of work off remote(i must be doing something wrong)

Finally I havent tackled DRLs yet. Id like the config to be fogs with accent lighting and no lowbeams but the drl commands are pretty plentyful and havent done much research. I have a Canadian sport and lowbeams are on all the time.

I thought the fog remember might help some one else.

Anyone done the drls yet?

Anyone know what module controls the rear washer for the camera. I think it was working before but it isn't now.

Thinking about it more, the rear washer is working but no juice coming out the nozzle for camera, I doubt it was a programming issue as im pretty sure the camera nozzle is passive.

Is the front one working?

Yes with the main wash button for the frontwashers

Thanks, I updated the code for high beams with fog as there were two variables which worked on 16MY. I will also be updating my spreadsheet soon with information for 2011-2015MY.

As for global windows, did you also write the changes for the DDM and PDM modules? To open the windows, you need to press unlock once then hold it down. For closing them, just hold lock.

No I didn't. It was the first code I tried so I was a bit fun shy until a couple started to work. I will look into the other modules today. My Sport has global down already enabled but not up.

But I can't focus past the camera cleaner at the moment, silly OCD when things dont work right. lol

Thanks For your list!

One question, How do you find out what the addresses control?

There is a setting in the PDM and DDM modules for 2017 to disable Global Close so this will need to be changed to the value that enables both Global Close & Open. At 740-05-01 and 741-05-01, the first digit 9 will need to be changed to D.

Some settings can be changed with Ford IDS (or the unofficial UCDS software) - once a setting is changed we can note what bits were changed in the as-built data and figure out where these settings reside by comparing the new and old as-built files. We can also compare as-built data from vehicles that have these features and others that don't. Sometimes, for example in some of the newer instrument panel clusters, we need to experiment by incrementing values in hexadecimal 0-9 & A-F. This is very time consuming but many as-built settings are shared with other Ford vehicles.

Here are the latest spreadsheets I am aware of:

Hi, I'm a newb here and just bringing myself up to speed with all the FORSCan stuff. I've managed to figure out how to maneuver some of the software now. Successfully played around with the splash screens last night. Just want to say thanks to those who put in their own personal time to map all this stuff out. Here's what got me into all this FORscan stuff... I have a Canadian 2017 Ford Explorer XLT. As such, the low beams are always on as the DRLs. Would like to have it so that when not in park (driving), the LED low beams are off, and only the signature light strips are on as DRL. Also noticed that the Signatures have two brightness options depending on time of day. Would like them to always be in the brightest mode possible once changed to be the standalone DRLs.

Thanks!

Great, this worked for the most part. FORScan wouldn't allow me to update BCM 726-50-01 though? Says incompatible or something...

Is there any way to have the Signature lights to stay on their brightest mode while the car is driving. They seem to stay on brightest mode when car is parked, and dim to a less bright mode once the vehicle is switched into neutral/drive.

Correction, they seem to stay on the bright mode when on auto. THanks, working as planned :)

Your result is much different than mine, as no lights turn on (during the day) when set to auto.
The signature lights only turns on when I turn the dial to off.

I will have to try mine out later as im itching to get the Lows of DRL and use sig instead. I would also like the fogs to be on but I may have to scan the f150 stuff.
Thanks again !

I'm able to have the fog lights on with only the signature lights as well. Of note, the daytime lights have to be de-selected on the dash. Signatures still show up for me in this mode on Auto. Does everyone else have a 2017 explorer?

Greetings!

Just picked up a nice 2015 XLT earlier this month, 15 years after I sold my 1st Explorer, a 93 that I ran the wheels off of.

Wanted to report that I was able to reset the PATS keys back to zero (it had 4 IKTs programmed but only two keys came with it) and reprogram the two standard 3-button IKTs that came with the vehicles back into it using FORScan 2.3.9 beta. It was a TIMED delay of 12 minutes, went as smooth as butter. I saw some previous posts that indicated some concerns about PATS reprogramming and a note that, it it were TIMED instead of CODED, it *might* work. Happy to say it did work for me!

I usually kill time on some of the F-series forums and used to spend time on the Contour and SHO forums, so, if any of you folks out there are now here, howdy!
