New to me 2002 Eddie Bauer

Hi Folks, Just bought a new to me 2002 Eddie with 35,000 miles. To the best of my knowledge there is nothing wrong with this one. Has 4x4 V6 SOHC and standard EB features. Anything anybody would suggest, I watch real close?......"pear"

Does yours have the message center on the instrument panel and if so, is it bright or dim? Mine is dim, I have taken it apart yet to find the fix, but I plan to.
