Waddup,
Got an '07 SportTrac V8 with only 2,000 miles. Just bought a travel trailer weighing only about 5k. While towing up hills I hear the radiator fan cycles as it should as the temp guage goes up but always returns to normal, EXCEPT for about half way up a hill when the fan stops cycling and the temp guage pegs within seconds. When I stop and cool'er off, the fan will work properly for about another 5'ish miles and then will wind down again and the temp guage pegs and the process repeats.
Anyone have similar experiences? I suspect the fan clutch was a bad one since it wont consistently cycle the fan. I know it's still a warranty item but I just want to eliminate the guessing game with the service folks and give'm somethin more to chew on.
Any similar fixes or suggestions fire'em my way.
