- 1997 Explorer Eddie Bauer
All the posts here seem very mechanicy. This one is going to sound girly because I am one.
I have a 97 Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition. Had 12,000 miles on it when I bought it and it road rough then. Now that it is 20 years old (almost) it's even worse of course. I am not certain if new shocks have ever been installed but I guess they would have had to at some point. I just don't remember. Shocks are not my job.
Is it even possible for an Explorer to have a smooth ride? I have been seeing some discussions on replacing air ride with regular shocks?? Mine never had an air ride ever. But I think that is something I would like to experience for a change.
If I can't have an air ride is there a shock that is close?
