So this will be my 5th Explorer. I've owned a 00' Eddie Bauer V8, a 99 OHV 2wd, an 01 Limited V8, and most recently, a heavily modified 94 prerunner.

I sought out this specific combination for over a month. I am very picky about cleanliness. I needed 4x4, and I did not want to mess with a transfer case swap with a V8. So here is my spec list of the "perfect" Explorer that I was finally able to find.

      98 XLT
      147,000 miles
      SOHC/5R55E
      4x4
4.10 Rear end with limited slip
      Color matched grill
Running boards (could have lived without them)
      Leather interior
An inch thick file of receipts!

My plan for this truck is to keep it as a comfortable daily driver, as well as something that is capable enough for the overlanding adventures that I like to do with my family.

      Front suspension -
      BTF uniball upper arms
Debating on 2.0" coilovers, or a larger 2.5" shock while keeping the torsion bars

      Rear suspension -
      Home built lift shackle
      2.5x10" shocks

      Misc -
      Custom roof rack
20" led bar in the front bumper
      Front valance/fog light delete
Tint front windows & rear glass
      265/75R16 all terrains
Maybe a nice set of wheels at some point
      Nice stereo
      Hand held vhf radio mount
      Good tablet and phone mounts
      Upgraded headlights

That's really about it. Just want to keep this thing simple and clean.

Going to get all the creature comforts dialed in before I start tearing into this thing. My kid loves this feature so far. This truck has the rear air with the headphone jack, so I love it too! Next up is tint.

Starting to look like something. Threw some 265/75/16's on and cranked the torsions a little. Next up will be a BTF uniball upper arm, torsion keys, and 2.5x8 FOA's.

Few upgrade on this off road beast. Threw on some BTF uniball uppers and some torsion keys. This stuff really helped get a lot of slop out of the factory setup. Cant wait to get some decent shocks on it. Here's my latest run that I did yesterday.
