Steel Bumper and Winch - 2002 Explorer XLT

Hello Forum, I was wondering if anyone had recommendations re replacing the front bumper on my 2WD, 2002 XLT? I am looking for a steel bumper which includes a mounting for a winch but does not have a huge bull-bar?

If I'm not mistaken that would need to be custom fabricated. It has been done, do some searching here and you will find a thread with photos. A front receiver hitch is available though, and you could use a hitch adapter.

I am looking into the same thing, and actually just started a thread on it. There is an Aussie who had a custom front bumper made, but I haven't seen anyone from the states with one.

n.gardner had one on his truck. There is lots of info about it on his thread.

Also I don't know about on this forum, but Instagram the page "Built Explorers" posted this picture a bit back. I don't remember who/where but I've seen this style (or pretty close to it) of bumper on other Explorers too.

The OP has a 2002 XLT, that’s a 3rd generation Explorer.
