supercharged 5.0 true fire 98 explorer sport

hi everyone, my name is tim . i live in selkirk, manitoba, canada and as if this date that i am posting this, i am 36 years old.

i bought my sport in jan 05 from a local ford dealer. it had 111,000KM's on it. this is the second sport i have owned. it was sitting on the lot for about 8 months before i came along. i am the third owner (i was able to track down the person that traded it in, and they got it from a friend, who bought it new in 98).

i started to do a few things to it after i first got it, then i found this site, and all hell broke lose! i've never been satisfied with something the everyone else has, so i started to tinker with it even more.

plus you know you have done something right when.....

your truck (as well as corkey) wins truck of the month

http://www.explorerforum.com/forums//showthread.php?t=296023

is the feature truck on the fun hump day radio show (starts roughly around the 30 min mark)

http://explorerforum.podbean.com/2011/03/23/19-vroom-zoomboom/

and you drive 26 hours ONE WAY to the carlisle all ford nationals in june 2010 and 2011, and grab second place in the s.u.v. all category!

scan00012.jpg

then in 2014 you go back to the same show you have been to 5 years in a row (nothing by most, but its one hell of a long drive) and take first!

 whatta ya mean! i like these! i like em all actually. its just so hard to pick. i still have to sorta all the ones with evil and hotness, as well as everyone else there so i can put them up here as well. i thought you did a great job taking these!

a little update.
when i was heading down to carlsile, i had noticed that the muffler was on its way out. when i came home, i had discovered that there was a hole in it the size of my thumb. off to the speed shop i went, and got them to put on a flowmaster series 50.

DSC07537_Medium_.JPG

as well as thanks to the late aldive, and once again for working where i do, i had found a one touch down window module from a older explorer, and put it in the passengers side door.

DSC07531_Medium_.JPG

DSC07533_Medium_.JPG

there is one more thing that i might be doing to evil, and will find out later today about it.

I'm sorry, I must be on crack... cos for a moment there I thought you said you might be selling Evil.... now... that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever read on here.... well, after Stic-O selling the JP Mobile.... so I think the moderators need to look into this cos there's obviously something wrong with the forum cos it's it's putting up spurious messages that make no sense..

so i get a text last night from our fellow member, and fellow canuk corkey
corkey "guess what, i broke a front axle"
me "****ty. i have a set in my shed"
corkey (jokingly) "you should come for a ride"
me "k, i'll be there tomorrow"
10 seconds later (ring, ring)
"are you serious? you'll come out and bring a set of axles for me?"
"ya, i need to get the hell out of manitoba for awhile, this place is driving me nuts!!!!"
so, woke up this morning, jumped into evil and went for a 3 hour drive.

i wasn't kidding when i told corkey i NEEDED to get away.....as fast as possible!

DSC07545_Medium_.JPG

funny story about this pic (^^^) was i needed to go and get some gas, and asked pete to come for a quick ride. started telling him that i got a flowmaster put on, and wanted him to hear it. as i step on the throttle, he warns me to watch out for the opp (ontario police). when we get there, somehow the subject comes back up about speeding. i pulled out the camera and showed him this
corkey "holy crap, how fast were you going?"
me "'bout a buck 50"
corkey (with a confused look on his face, nervously says after zooming in on pic "i think you better look again!"
me (with also a confused look) "i wondered why that charger disappeared in the rear view so fast, and evil stopped pulling!"

i also saw this in winnipeg when i was driving out there

DSC07542_Medium_.JPG

i then spotted this down his street

DSC07569_Medium_.JPG

got there, unloaded his well needed axles, chatted while he put his truck back together, then broke out the cameras!

so now she sleeps. this winter she's going to be parked. yes, she wont be for sale. my buddy that painted her has had it for a little over a month now while he painted his truck, and i brought her back tonight. you have no idea how many people *****ed at me for thinking of selling it.....NO IDEA! i needed a ride to gords so i could get my other truck. one of my female friends gave me a lift back there. she met me at the car wash before taking it home, she had tears in her eyes because she thought i sold it. that and this thing does have a mind of its own. it must be mad at the thought of me selling it, because i forgot something in it, went to open the door, door locks frozen. ok, i thought, grabbed the key fob, doors now unlocked, but little did i know, doors frozen (no bs either). it didnt want to let me in! so i guess its now teaching me a lesson. if i do got back to AFN next year without it, and see everyone, they more then likely will stone me!

she needs to have a sit anyways, we are going to get alot of snow and damaging her would suck,,

she needs to have a sit anyways, we are going to get alot of snow and damaging her would suck,,

that and i would rather bang a drift in the new truck.......kinda like i did last night going to and from work :D

when i was talking to you last night, i almost swore i heard you breath a sigh of relief when i said selling it or thinking of selling it was on hold now.

i did,, you know Tim unless a collector bought that thing it would be a piece of crap in a short time,, you care for it, regardless of past months events,,

Well, since I dumped my FB page, I didn't see the issues cropping up- hope all is well Tim. Nice pics too...

Tis a shame man. That was definitely one of the sexiest explorers I saw at AFN.

no worries. that and normally this time of year, it is covered with grime and salt. some days you can even tell what color it is. i was talking with jay the other night and he still couldn't believe that i drove the thing in the winter, and the paint still looked the way it did! you will see it again this year when i come back down. instead, what might happen is it will be a little shorter, and have different wheels when i come back. hey, after all, cant bring the truck two years in a row looking the same, right?

oh, btw, this is what it looks like right now. covered in snow. i have to brush it off somehow this weekend, start it, and take it for a ride around the block to get everything moving.

DSC07898_Medium_.jpg

Thought you would have kept it garage kept.

you call that snow covered,,,

looks like a dusting to me,,

glen, i would have stuffed it into a garage, but i don't have one. that and i didn't want to put a cover on it. it would have either froze to the body, or the wind would have beaten the paint, and left rub marks on it.
pete, i've wiped it off of snow a few times already. this was just within the last week or two. but yea, i know what you mean.

All things said- salt is what does the most damage. I have a buddy that parked his Mustang outside every year and it lookes spectacular 10 years later. She'll be fine. :)

To tell you the truth, I have noticed 3 bubbles on the lower rockers. I would fix it but I will wait for a while. Don't really want to tare into it again this soon. I have my car that I want to finish, and its a ways away from being done (like the only thing in it is the rear suspension!)

well evil got a day pass today. well, not even a day pass, more like a half hour to stretch out. i think shes getting bored sitting in the back yard all by herself. she's pulled the "I'm going to get a low tire so you have to drive me to get it filled up" crap. but i have to say, she's still fun to boot around in, in the winter!

sorry about the crappy cell pic. forgot camera when i went to the gas station
