system adaptive fuel too lean

I plugged in a scanner into my PCM in my 1999 ford explorer 4.0 SOHC, and got the following two codes PO171, and PO174 "System Adaptive fuel too lean" Bank1 & Bank 2.

If there is any info that you guys could give me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

yea it is your lower intake manifold gaskets get them fixed along with your timing chain tensioners for free under recall

well there is a service because i had this done on mine it is free until 70 or 80 thousand miles. i am not sure if it is a bonafied recall or not but i think it is a service bullitin in that they will only fix it if you have the prolblem instead of doing everyones if you call the ford dealer i am sure that they would get you taken care of
