Had a 98 Exy & just wanted to see how tough they were in the US. Since here in Australia, it's either a Toyota Landcruiser or Nissan Patrol that everyone uses off road. But I'm a Ford man & won't own anything else. :)

Oh yeah, I think I'm gonna have to rebuild the engine in the Jeep so the ex is gonna get some attention. Right now I'm just getting po screwups rectified, anyone got a front driveshaft laying around close to southern KY?

We came across this site trying to troubleshoot our blinking O/D light. Ford relied solely on their diagnostic readings and wanted to replace our tranny with 61,000 miles on it with one pulled from a boneyard with 98,000! $3,500! Suggesting ours be rebuilt they told us parts were no longer available. Guess they didn't check Rockauto! An inexpensive OBD1 reader from Amazon enabled us to clear any codes and 2400 miles later NO PROBLEMS! Makes us wonder why they didn't at least do that! Oh wait... Of course they didn't!
