That's an older thread. lol
They are heavy duty, and very expensive. Tig welded, gussets, 1/4" and bolt on with plate sammich. They took a few people to make, and a lot of time invested. Don't feel like going thru that again. lol
If Money isn't a factor, and If you do it just like these, just be prepared to spend & take a lot of time for all the steps involved. These are not a weekend build.
You can cut costs/labor by foregoing the gussets/nerfs, using thinner metal, Mig instead of Tig, less legs, welding to the frame, and spray paint over powder coat.
I plan on making another set for the 94, but not as extreme. I will simply weld them (instead of bolt on) to the frame. Might even use a set of pre-made 70" tube slider kits, for half the cost as the Black Hole's. I want a set that has nerf kickouts in front of the rear tires. I installed a set like that on the FJ, and was amazed, how well they worked pushing the entire rig away from obstacles, and saved body damage.
thats a really good idea
Food, food, food, we crave sustenance.
Great movie :-D
VERY good looking wheels and tires sir.
Call me ignorant but what are these for?
Inner Tie Rod Ends.
OOOOHHHHHH I can not wait to see your explorer in person.
you dont have the powwar to turn them big ol tires however
That's what the atlas is for. Lol
Scored this for the rig at half price. Brand new Ready Welder II. Will just load it with flux wire for trail repairs.
Will get these on the rig eventually. Why 6? I will fill in the blank, in the near future.
VERY Nice sir. I so badly want to get a welder.
Off road trailer?
I think he caught you @gmanpaint LOL
At this juncture, I can't confirm, or deny.
I think a trailer is going to be needed soon, to haul all the extra gear.
Well if your feeling froggy and want to come to the shop and have those wheels mounted and balanced let me know and we can get them done. If you've got good brand tires we might even be able to roadforce them
I wouldn't charge you anything to mount and balance them, least I can do for inviting us to ride with you at SMORR
your going dually!
dually would be awesome also
Thanks and your welcome Kurt. Are you guys a certified Goodyear dealer?
As far as the extra wheel, I am bound to secrecy by The SS, MLB, BLM, NBA, MFL, Boy-scouts of America, & the Queen Mum herself, (for the time being). I might be flogged for even sharing that picture. All in due time, all in due time.
we can get you whatever tires you want. we even have a sign out front "we will not be undersold on tires!"
