Tranny help!!

I was driving back to school today and i was going about 45, tried to accelarate in traffic, heard a grinding noise and then all I could do is rev the engine. My truck currently has 112xxx miles on it and I don't know what to do. Can someone give me some advice on what I should do? I'm completely lost here and don't know much about tranny repairs. Thanks in advance.

Yea it wont move at all. How much am I lookin at for a rebuild?

Depends on what parts you need. Anywhere from $500 if you or a friend do it to $2800 for a complete rebuild with 2 year warranty.

SOB $2800? cant you get like a reman tranny for around $1000?

Mine was 2600 or something like that. Every part was replaced except for the case, 2 year warranty, 1.5 day turnaround.

Went to the shop today, $1850 to rebuild and it'll be done on wednesday. Thanks for answering so quick and calming me down lol.
