VSS gear keeps stripping!

1998 explorer automatic 4wd.
Speedo stops ing itll shift in and out of overdrive at highway speeds.

Pulled VSS gear was stipped so replaced the gear. Stripped again and again and again

Finally we replaces the gear on the inside of the transmission.and so had bother new gear and a new vss and put it and had high hopes. But it stripped again!!

Anyone have any ideas?im about to nust get a different transmission lol thanks

Is the speed sensor hard to turn? Maybe it's too tight and causing the gear to fail.

It turns easy. We have replaced the sensor many times as well. Think im just going to junk the tranny and get a used one and put in haha
