Have a 1997 Ford Explorer 5.0 Eddie Bauer, currently has 314,000 miles on the Body, 3rd Engine...Owned now for 8 years and LOVE this Truck!! Do most work on vehicle by myself or with help from a friend. Wanted to join this forum of other Explorer owners to learn repairs and common issues with this Model...

Hello All, just figured I should introduce myself, after I started another thread lol I'm looking for a 4wd truck and Explorers seem quite popular. I'm a little confused on the drivetrain options, but that can be addressed in the other tread. A quick internet search on my question lead me here and I hope to contribute to this community. I'm sure I'll have more questions if I do decide to purchase either a Ranger or an Explorer.

Hi everybody, I figured I would start by introducing myself here first before getting too far ahead. I joined the forum so I could tap into the vast knowledge of the website when I work on a 5.0l swap for my truck. I own a 2000 Ranger 4.0l OHV 4x4 with 152,000 miles. I have been using this site as a reference for a long time and now I finally want to get involved with the community.

Thanks for letting me in. My wife has a pretty little 2004 XLT 4.6 v8 we call the money pit! Bought at 110,000 miles three years ago. Have only gotten to drive it for about three months of this time on and off. Keeps going back to the shop for sputtering on acceleration and no power. Hopefully someone else has had these issues and figured them out. Truck is pristine, just can't keep it running.

Hello! 2015 Explorer Sport owner here. Just picked up an SCT X4. The tunes it came with are nice, but I'm looking forward to some more supporting mods and a custom tune to really get this thing going.

Never been in any forum before but this seems like a great place to be. I've been reading some posts here and it's very informative. First time Ford Explorer buyer. Purchased a 2014 Limited model has some issues with it but nonetheless it's a nice vehicle! Looking forward to learn a lot more about my explorer. Thank you all and keep up the good work!

      2000 Explorer Eddie Bauer
      Hello everyone,

New to the forum. My wife received a used 2000 Explorer Eddie Bauer from her parents when she was 16. Its the only car that she has ever owned. Its a beautiful car with around 104k miles. We are considering a new car for her but she really loves her Explorer (calls her Dora). I have decided to convert the Explorer to four wheel drive and keep it in the family. I have found lots of great information on the forum and look forward to finding more great info and making some relationships!

      2007 Explorer XLT
      Hello Everyone!
I currently drive a 2007 Explorer XLT 4WD, 175k+ miles. I bought it new. It's my 3rd Explorer :). I owned a '98 (bought new) and an '05 (bought used in '06, driven by my husband). Prior to the Explorers, I owned a 1989 Bronco II (also bought new). I'd like to think my '07 is in fairly decent condition although there are some things that no longer work (that I wish still did), but no major repairs (knock on wood). Just had some work done a couple of months ago (suspension) and now she's sidelined with an annoying CEL issue (I'll post about that in the other forum).

Looking forward to learning more about my truck as I attempt to get it back on the road, :)
      Cheers!
      Sandy

      98 Ranger XLT 2wd
      Hello,
      New guy...please bear with me.
I currently have a 98 Ranger I am swapping a 97 Explorer v8 into. I will be running a t5 behind it and a 3.73 8.8 posi rear end. Should be fun if I ever get it finished with school looming over head. Anyway, looking to supercharge it eventually.

On that note I am struggling to find anything about the kits that are still available...if anybody could point me in the right direction that would be helpful. I have done a few searches for the Weiand kit I am looking at but can't find anybody that used one.

That is all. This site has already helped a few times having beaten the Explorer the motor came out of...oops. Air time and explorers don't mix well.

      Thanks

Hi everyone, I'm new here and I'm in need of help!!!!! My name is Jeff and I live in North Wilkesboro NC. My 2003 Ranger went all to heck on me yesterday. The airbag light came on, the blower motor stopped working and when I put it in park I can't get it out of park. Anybody have any idea what is going on .....?
