Ranger XLT 4x4 towing capacity
Do you have the towing capacity data for a 1998 Ranger 4x4 XLT manual transmission, 3L? Thanks.
You can download your manual in .pdf form, your capacity will vary with gear ratios, but the book shows where to look for your axle code.
Ford Ranger towing
Thanks! I found it.
Perhaps people using their x's for the SU part of the V. Towing jet skis, boats, utilizing the roof rack for bikes, skis, snowboards, camping gear. I'd like to see a bunch of pix of that.

Here is an updated link to the official Ford Towing Guides, back to 2002 model year. I wish this could be placed somewhere easy to access. It might cut down on so many new threads titled, "Can I tow this trailer?", or "How much can I tow with my Ex?"

....I think you forgot something..
No, I didn't forget. You simply posted quicker than I could go find my old link, copy, and edit-post, and paste, ....which was my intention all along.
..Thanks for posting the link to the PDF's..:biggthump
It's a good thing you're here to state the obvious for us.
..Well Thank you...I do my best to help when I can...:biggthump
Is this how you get your post-count up so high, or do you actually contribute anything worthwhile to this site?
Thanks for your contribution.
I want to know what size the nuts/bolts are to hook up a trailer hitch to my 1991. I am searching and cannot find what I need.
Just my 2 cents, I read about the connector behind the left tail light and went out to look. Well I figured I'd crawl under there and look before pulling the light and wonder of wonders on a 98 it is right below the light accessible from behind the bumper and pointing straight down!
