2000 Explorer 5.0 AWD XLT, front wipers will work correctly on high speed. Slow speed and delay speeds won't
all the time. I replaced the relay but did't make a difference. I would appreciate any ideas how to find the problem. Thank you. Lil Joe

Sounds like you need to replace your multifunction switch...

Yeah you can but they fail all the time.

Toypaseo, excellant reply. The switch on the Explorer lasted 199,000 mi so I'm not complaining. Thanks to everyone who replied. Thanks to all you guys I may get all the little bugs fixed. Lil Joe

They get dirty over time.

I've seen some that just needed cleaning and some that were just plain worn out.

The bottom line is that it's making intermittent contact.

They're not expensive and not worth taking a chance on being able to clean.

Unless you just like to pull them out more than once just for ***** and giggles.
