2015 Explorer XLT
I have a 2015 Explorer XLT with P245/60 R18 on aluminum rims. Would I be able to install a set of 265/60 R18 on steel wheels? The 265 is almost an inch taller and almost an inch wider? Will it clear the fenders? Will it mess up the speedo or give me any error codes?
Thanks in advance!

Why not stay with the same size for your Winter tires? Ideally you would want to go narrower, not wider. A 265/60R18 is slightly over the accepted maximum diameter variance of 3% (3.19%). If you go with a 235/60R18 you will be at -1.60% which is acceptable. I use the 235/60R18 Bridgestone DM-V1 tires in place of the OEM 255/45R20 Hankooks.. I bought the Ford Interceptor steel wheels plus the centre cap (optional) for my MKT. I bought the wheels at $80 each from the dealer. If you don't want those wheels, Ford usually has a Winter Wheel/Tire promotion each Fall. The only error code you'll get is the TPMS warning light if you don't install those.
You can use these handy sites to check sizes and differences in speed etc

I should have mentioned that the only reason I'm looking into this is that I can get a good used set of Federal Himalaya winter tires for $150. Otherwise I would be looking at the proper size.
Thanks for your reply!

You could probably get by with them without any issues. There are members who have exceeded that maximum by far more that 0.19%

Any other opinions out there? I plan on buying these today!
