X performance/mpg question?

I plan on getting an 06 explorer 4.0 soon and I have read on some posts in here that an airbox box and opening up the exhaust will help with not only performance but gas mileage as well. I was thinking about getting 2.5 exhaust piping from the stock y pipe back but I was looking for suggestions for a nice flowing muffler thats not too loud. And what is the air-box mod for the X's? I will be putting a k&n drop in in regardless. Also thinking about getting an SCT tuner, they claim 11hp and 8ft/lbs on their site plus I know on my old mustang after the tuner I actually got better gas mileage. Basically wondering what performance gains I could expect from this setup on a 4.0 X and muffler recommendations. Thank you.

I have a flowmaster super 40 right now....its loud I guess...... But not loud enough for me. Some of my buds think its really loud though. I plan on getting a Aero Turbine muffler for it and selling my super 40. If you want to buy it send me a PM

Not yet, but its a possibility. I'm still going to do some muffler research.
