    Help, No Fuel Pressure!

Ok, decided to go with the NAPA brand. Installed it and it works! Started right up:) At idle my gauge is reading 55 psi, this seems low compared to other peoples experience. Is 55 psi OK? I thought it was supposed to be around 62 psi. Thanks everyone for all your help! I hope this...

    Help, No Fuel Pressure!

Yeah, I researched the Airtex pump after it was installed. lol I don't know how I forgot the rule to not buy parts from certain places. We're taking out the Airtex for a refund, NAPA has Bosch and NAPA Fuel Pumps brands. Anyone familiar with the NAPA Fuel Pumps? Both state they are...

    Maybe the heater core?

    Help, No Fuel Pressure!

There was no adapter with the pump so we had to cut the wires and use the old one. Hopefully we'll get a new pump in tomorrow and I'll report back on how it goes. Thanks for all the help! Edit: One last thing, the system holds no pressure. As soon as the pump stops, pressure drops right back...

    Help, No Fuel Pressure!

Thanks for the replies. My gauge only came with one adapter for the Ford fuel rails. The fuel was clear when the filter was removed and looking in the tank it looked really clean. We put the fuel pump in, not a garage so the only warranty is for the pump from Autozone. Unfortunately we...

    Help, No Fuel Pressure!

I don't believe there is any way for me to hook up my gauge to the fuel line, the gauge just has a threaded connector. Is there an adapter for this? Thanks!

    Help, No Fuel Pressure!

Ok, I tested the voltage at the wiring that runs into the tank. Got 12V. I jumped the relay and got a reading of about 14psi on the gauge. Thats too low isn't it? Could the fuel pump have gone bad in one day? It's an Airtex from Autozone. Thanks!

    Help, No Fuel Pressure!

Someone stole the battery out of my multimeter:mad: From what I've read, with the key in the on position the fuel pump turns on briefly to pressurize the system and I should see some reading at the rail test port. I just don't get why I see nothing. I wish I had the money to just drop it...

    Help, No Fuel Pressure!

Is that with the engine running or just the initial pressurization? I found a test light. I'll go try and check the voltage at the pump. Thanks for all the help!

    Help, No Fuel Pressure!

I'm not an expert so I'm not sure how to bypass the relay, lol. I don't see any headlight relay in the power distribution box to swap with the fuel pump relay. The garage said they swapped relays and they were fine, that was why they recommended a fuel pump replacement. Thanks!

    Help, No Fuel Pressure!

Thanks for the quick reply! The garage read the codes but said it needed a new fuel pump before getting to anything else. The codes are PO102, PO113, PO171, and PO174. I don't understand what the plugs, injectors or wires would have to do with no pressure reading at the rail. I believe...

    Help, No Fuel Pressure!

My brother has a 2000 Ford Explorer 4.0L OHV that was running really bad and dieing all the time. The garage said it needed a new fuel pump. With a new pump and filter it ran great for one day and then started idling real rough and dieing again. I bought a gauge to test the pressure, with key...
