Will I need these when I go to aftermarket wheels?

My '96 5.0 will occasionally crank, but not fire - fuel pump not activated. If I try a few times, it'll start, and no further problems. As it never quits once it's running, I'm guessing it's the ignition switch (no juice to the fuel pump in Start), but I'm just guessing. Can someone enlighten me?

Occasionally when the TC lock-up engages in O/D, it shudders, instead of engaging smoothly. 166K on the Ex, mainly freeway, and no other mechanical issues. Is this the beginning of the end, or something minor?

I didn't even know what a synchronizer was until mine started making noise last weekend at 138K miles. Is there any trick to putting the new one in? I know Ford makes a special tool for timing it, but shouldn't the new one go in in the same position that the old one came out?

I've seen the tip on 4.0 MAF cleaning. My 5.0 has a slight hiccup off idle, and also a slight roughness at idle, so I guess it's time to do this. Is the procedure the same as for the 4.0, or do I approach it differently? Thanks for your help!
