    Metal Thermostat Housing?

The lower thermostat housing on my explorer cracked last night. Before I bought a stock replacement for it, I'd like to know is there any aftermarket replacements that are metal? Im still searching for one but if any of you have some info on this or could shed some light it would be very...

Easy way to fill your rear differential!

Yea its def a tight spot. I tried to go above that crossmember but theres barely enough space for a piece of paper in there. It got harder towards the end to squeeze the bottle hard enough to get the remainder of the fluid in there. Im sure it could be refined a bit with a hand pump attached to...

Easy way to fill your rear differential!

Was helping my dad today doing a rear diff service on his 2003 exlporer. I don't know if someone has made something similar on here in the past but this is what I used and it made it 10x easier. I took one 1' long piece of black hose and a tire pressure guage (a cheap $2 aluminum guage) and cut...

    5R55W Fluid Fill

Great link! Is there a way to drain the torque convertor while trans is still in the vehicle? and when you fill the trans up with good fluid will it fill the TC as well or does that have to be done on its own? This Thread has def helped me understand this process a lot with how to check...

    oil in intake

Well we got the new pcv valve in and when we went to get the old out it was just hanging there not plugged in which would explain the hesitation we had cause it wasnt drawing the right vacuum. After we got it in what a difference in acceleration alone with the right vacuum now and no oil in the...

    oil in intake

That is an awesome thread! Didnt realize this was an electronic pcv valve. It said if it comes disconnected it will stall the engine and have a vacuum leak. Right now it hesitates when it starts up but is fine once it starts, so im guessing if its clogged or getting clogged it could be causing...

    oil in intake

Ok i figured it be ok since it had the valve on the one side. So the black box on the air intake tube is that supposed to be a filter if oil does get in there? I was wondering what that was for?

    oil in intake

Im hoping thats all it is just a quick fix. And the motor is in real good shape only 100k and runs great. Just wondering tho if the pcv is on the drivers side whats the point of the hose on the passenger side thats going to the air intake where the oil is getting in? can that just be plugged...

    oil in intake

Its running out of the air filter a tiny bit cause the tube angles down. But that vent tube doesnt have the pcv in it. It has a rubber hose on the valve cover and then has a 90 degree plastic fitting on the n the other end and pugs into the air intake tube. So its the oil from the valve springs...

    oil in intake

Was helping my dad work on his explorer the other night and took off the old airbox and put on a cone filter, and I noticed oil in the intake tube. I noticed its coming in through the vent tube coming off the passenger side valve cover. Also the black box attached to the intake tube is that a...
