    driver's door wont unlock!

Saw this on a video. Another way is to remove the two screws that hold the inside door handle on. Remove the handle and will see a bar which handle is supposed to operate, Latch onto bar with small pair of vice grips and push inward to the rear. this should open the door.

    driver's door wont unlock!

Old thread, but still a keeper. Thanks a million heyok, spring on DS door was broke, I followed your advice, and re-bent the long end of spring and your pic of re-hook up was of the best. I did it just as you described and it worked like a champ.

Solved 4x4 High Low Light Keeps Blinking....

I had the same 4wd high/low lights flashing on/off and 4wd would not engage on my 1998 EB Explorer. Friend told me to disconnect negative cable on battery for few minutes, then reconnect and try. I did not think much of that idea, but Googled it and found a couple references to doing that...

Very audible clicking/clunking sound when key is turned on.

Don't think my blocking a vacuum hose will hold water. When the key is tuned on and engine not running, ie; no vacuum, but still get the click/clunk. Will need to delve further and see if the blend door actuator is controlled by a electric solenoid.

Very audible clicking/clunking sound when key is turned on.

Many thanks Kevlar7R, I think you nailed it first time right out of the chute. Raised hood, used stethoscope on firewall in that area, and there was no doubt as to where the click/clunk was emitting from. As I understand it, the blend door actuator is vacuum controlled and the vacuum hose...

1998 Eddie Bauer Explorer. Clicking sound problem started when I disconnected battery to add water. Reconnected battery, first heard the normal humming and clicking after doing such, but then a very audible and different clicking/clunking sound was comming like from behind dash. The vehicle...

Engine noise when AM is on

Thanks guys, SE members always come through with commonsense solutions. At about same time AM noise started, gas mileage started dropping, so may kill two birds with one stone on the plug wire replacements. Replaced the plugs couple years ago, should have done the plug wires to old as they are.

Engine noise when AM is on

Have a 98 Eddie Bauer Explorer, OEM premium sound system, on CD or FM, no problem, but when on AM, the engine noise is horrible, with engine off, works fine. Thanks for any suggestions or advice?

Blew fitting o-ring on low side of condenser ?

If you were on I-40, Topock is at the AZ/CA bridge, but we actually live five miles up river in Topock/Golden Shores where the Topock post office is and the names are used singularly or interchangeably. When we retired in 1991, looked at some property up around Meadview and almost bought it...

Blew fitting o-ring on low side of condenser ?

Have a 98 Explorer, was idling in 115 degree ambient temp (AZ) with AC on for about five minutes. Noticed puffs of vapor emitting from grill, opened hood to check and found it was R134A venting from outlet side of condenser, shut down AC. Lost some compressor oil, but not too much. Got home...

    Everyone with an Automatic inside!!

Not a tranny expert, but just my two cents. I checked out vent tube on my 98 and have the same setup. It might be the holes are to act as a anti siphon for the tube, or, it could be possible with the open ended tube, at hwy speeds, said open ended tube without the holes could induce a venturi...
