Are the Torsion bars the same part in the second and third gen explorers? Or are the newer explorers with both front and rear IS different? I want to replace my torsion bars with new ones, but Ford Australia does not supply parts for first gen explorers without ridiculous price tags.

Torsion bars on my 97 explorer are stuffed, is there anywhere anyone knows that i can find new ones?? I cant find them anywhere. I'm a bit suspicious of buying second hand ones.

Hi guys, I got the m0012 kit when i did my timing chains, however my galley bolt is stuck to hell! I tried to get it out with ratchets with torque bits and breaker bars with torque bits, but the torque bits just started to twist. Does anyone know any good tricks to loosening it up?

Hi guys, I'm about to buy parts to replace my timing tensioners etc.. My explorer is a 1996 4.0L SOHC, however all the parts i find which state they are for Explorers only say 1997 onwards? Is the 1996 different to the timing setup in a 1997? Or will the parts in a 1997 timing chain kit...

Ive been trying to figure this out for a bit. The 5.0L was never released for the explorer in Australia in the second gens, however we have had other 5.0L engines released in cars like the Ford Falcon. I am trying to figure out if the 5.0L that was used in 95-~2001 falcon (all models XR6 etc..)...

Hi Guys, in the process on working on my explorer, they're a cheap car here second hand because they have an awful reputation. However i'm quite enjoying using mine and taken it out a few times, going out tomorrow to give it a work out against the land cruisers and see what needs to be done.

I have removed the massive out tire fenders on my explorer (97 4.0L), Just wondering if anyone has an idea of some sort of flat plug/clip that could block all the holes in the while areas? (i'm also aware it can be fixed by blocking and repainting). Couldn't find anything searching. Cheers.
