5R55E transmission minor Slippage from 1st to 2nd

Ok. So I have a 1999 X with the SOHC v-6 and the 5R55e. I take very good care of it and have owned it since 2003 and 28k miles. Anyway, on to the transmission. I noticed about 30days ago that shifting between 1st and 2nd that there was a hop or mis shift. Its pretty minor, and only does it...

    Turtle Wax ICE Liquid Polish

I use ZYMOL. It is very good. Never got the kind of shine I get with that. Its a a light blue gray color found at most places. I 100% recommend a claybar cleaning before any waxing.

Best Explorer Shocks for the SMooOOTHES ride?

Edelbrock IAS are not smooth riding...take my word for it. I have Monroe sensa tracs. I would have got the Rancho 9000s but not enough cash to throw at it. My shocks are good and I have 20" tires

Price Range for 20" Wheel/Tire Package? HELP!

I got my wheels on eBay. The guy had them on a explorer so I knew they would work. As for the brakes, it was over $300 to do that. I would say you could just get wheels, then later do brakes. It was very driveable. Or maybe I can sell you my wheels? I am looking into getting new ones. PM...

Price Range for 20" Wheel/Tire Package? HELP!

I have 20s. I paid $1400 for them used with tires. They looked new. Buying new is not the best way. The helos I bought would have been like $2500. ALso you dont need bigger brakes, but the wheels are heavier and it takes longer to stop. I had a close call so I changed my brakes. I...

Im the opposite. I dont like noise. That 40 series would drive me crazy. If this super turbo doesnt work, I will buy a new stock muffler I guess. Should have left it alone. I did go from 18.1MPG to 20.5MPG so that is good I guess. No real power boost that I can tell.

Im not worried about noise violations, I just hate that noise. I can understand v-8 noise but this sixbanger sounds like a kids riceburner.

Strange that you guys recommend the super turbo, because that is what my muffler guy said is going to be installed next as a replacement. I think froader has that super turbo muffler sound on youtube? Still sounds loud to me. Hope it works!

I have a single tip pass side exit. So a resonator welded in after the muffler?

Thats exactly what it looked like, but I think that they mostly look like that. I like the idle, and I like the highway sound. I dont like the way it sounds in 2nd gear around 2000rpms and up. It just a bass drone that is obnoxious.

I appreciate that option, but I really like my tip. If anything I will go with a can resonator in the pipe line if I have to. I will post pics to this post eventually. The guy who did it has been doing exhaust work for 22 years. IS YOUR Magnaflow the same part number with dual in single out?

I have a 1999 Ford Explorer Limited 4.0L Sohc. Custom SCT Tune and CAI. I wanted a high flow exhaust, with little to no sound change. Went to a cool shop here in town, and got this put on. Cat back 2.5" pipes. Muffler is a stainless magnaflow model number 12258. Got a nice tip also. It...
